Before: the phone tree
Site checks meant calling whoever was standing near the register. Camera reviews meant a vendor app that worked on one office PC. Router issues meant a contractor visit — quoted in days and hundreds, not minutes. The operations lead’s actual dashboard was a group chat.
The deployment
A Watchario hub went into each location on the existing network — no firewall changes, no camera replacements, no new router. Each hub discovered the site’s Hikvision cameras, the MikroTik router, and everything else connected, then opened its outbound WireGuard tunnel. Stores kept trading throughout.
After: one tab
The operations lead now scans every location in one browser view each morning: cameras live, devices green, history clean. Store managers see their own site only. IT holds router access — used from a desk, logged, and time-limited, instead of driven to.
The incidents that didn’t escalate
The recent pattern is the point: a device drops, monitoring flags it, someone opens the router session, the fix lands, and live video confirms the store is fine — before anyone on site calls.
